James Who?

I am a Co-Founder and COO of TrustWorkz, Inc. I am also the Digital Marketing Director and Social Strategist for AroundAbout Local Media, Inc. (TrustWorkz, Inc. and AroundAbout Local Media, Inc. are separate entities - we do view them as sisters internally.) We are headquartered in Woodstock, GA. and have been in business for the past 16 years bringing you hyper-local community magazines like The TowneLaker .

Update, 9/25/10 – HelloNorthGeorgia.com  was acquired by our local Cable/Telephone/Internet company a few months ago. In May of 2010 I accepted a position as the Digital Marketing Director/Social Strategist at AroundAbout Community Magazines, Inc.

I am an original founder of HelloNorthGeorgia.com, a visual directory for businesses in North Georgia. My individual role and responsibilities kept me dealing with all types of businesses and business owners each day. Among other things, I handled our own social media strategy and I acted as community manager. Our Twitter feed was a good example of this. Truly, much of my social media experience and understanding comes from the trial by fire method of learning. I consulted with my partners, our clients, and others, who desired to know more about social media and how it might apply to their own individual needs. Blogging is simply another tool for me. With this, I hope to help those that fall outside the boundaries of my own local community.

This blog is a natural extension of what I do. I am not a social media guru, though social media in general, I call a friend. I was not involved when the Internet began, but I have been deeply involved since we first met. My only true expertise is that which is born from my own mistakes. This experience, these mistakes, and my own personal take on things,… I present to you here.
